With over 50 career triathlon victories, Cathy started coaching to satisfy her desire to help others feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with achieving one’s goals. Cathy continues to leverage her training and racing experience in addition to proven scientific training protocols to help others achieve their athletic potential. That experience and knowledge includes a degree in exercise and sport science, graduate-level training in exercise physiology and sports psychology, and various sport specific coaching certifications.

Since the majority of Cathy’s competitive racing results came while working full time, she understands the time challenges many athletes face and the importance of maximizing return with each training session. Cathy is determined to be the best coach for her athletes and embraces the philosophy that optimal endurance performance is achieved with a balanced approach to training; specifically a smart training plan, precise functional strength, quality nutrition and adequate rest.

“I’m eager to motivate athletes in their quest to become stronger and faster while maintaining a healthy work, sport, and life balance.” 

Cathy has extensive racing and coaching experience in a variety of endurance and multisport events including sprint to iron distance triathlon, duathlon, off-road (Xterra), and road/mountain bike events. Cathy is currently coaching athletes of various skills and ambitions from around the globe.

Qualifications:

  • BSc Exercise and Sport Science, Minor Psychology & Public Health
  • USA Triathlon Level 1 Certified Coach
  • USA Cycling Level 3 Certified Coach
  • NASM Certified Personal Trainer
  • Completed Graduate level coursework in Exercise Physiology and Sports Psychology
  • Certified Holistic Health Coach – Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
  • 10+ years Coaching and racing experience.
